"Mommy and Me" at the Fire Station

The Mommy and Me group at church took the kids to the Gardendale fire station. We got to watch a short video on fire safety and then go out to the bay and see the fire trucks. The fireman showed us the hoses and told us a little about the trucks and what they do while they are at the fire station. They even got a call while we were there. It was really neat. The kids were all really shy while we were there, but if the rest were anything like Cadence they didn't stop talking about it for a while after. So, enjoy the pictures!

Jada's Birthday

Jada's birthday was Sunday, the 28th. We had her party with family with each individual family since she is getting a little older now. Can you believe it? Nine years old! My baby is 9! The pictures below are of our day at home on her birthday. These are only a few to show her on her birthday. We had already given her a few of her gifts at the earlier parties but she got a few small things Sunday as well. Her daddy always gives her a piece of jewelry on her birthday. The first picture is her opening her ring he gave her. This is something that is really special and makes her feel like a little princess...jewelry from the man in your life is always wonderful. And John is definately very special to Jada. She had a good birthday with just the family. Isn't she just so beautiful?

Cadence's first zoo trip!

We went to the zoo! Cadence has never been to the zoo, so we decided to take a day with her and just go with the flow at the zoo. We all had a blast! She was so excited to go see all of the animals...we packed her lunch for her and she carried her own big girl lunchbox, just like sissy. I think once we got there she was really amazed...it was beyond her expectations! Her favorite animal is the giraffe and she was shocked at how big they are in real life. We rode the train (I'll post some pics of that in the next blog), fed the ducks and turtles, played in the splash pad, saw kangaroos, it was awesome!
