It was real Greek cooking and it was actually really really good! They had a couples special and we got that and shared it and were so full we had a to go box! And did I mention the chocolate cake! I just can't stand driving past free puppies in Walmart parking lot and seeing such cute little faces and thinking that noone wants them. Well, after I picked him up I called John immediately when I got home and apologized. I started trying to find him a good home. But then we ALL got attached to him. Even John loves this puppy. He is a black lab/blue heeler mix. John says he is a Blue Lab or Black Heeler...lol. Anyways, he is so smart and such a good dog. He is only 11 weeks old and we have had him for almost 2 weeks. He is almost completely house trained, sits, shakes, lays down and rolls over on command. I decided to start a new tradition a few years ago on Thanksgiving. What we do is we make a homemade apple pie. Then we use cookie cutters or cut out ourselves different things that we are thankful for out of the dough. We put those things on top of the pie and bake it so that is our Thanksgiving apple pie. Some things we put on the pie...a cross for Jesus, people for our family and friends, a house for our home, dog, cat, Cadence put an elephant this year because she really likes elephants. They were shooting toward the lake. They had some targets and stuff they were shooting at. We looked out the window and saw that there was a cop outside with them. Apparently some of the neighbors had called the cops. It was pretty funny though since he came out and the first thing he said was "Yall have the right to shoot out here, I'm not coming to make you stop...I just wanted to make sure you were doing it safely." Then he asked them if they had been drinking. Once John told them no that they don't drink and that it was his 3 year old's birthday party, the cop said okay and was asking him about his gun...said he had one at home and wanting to know some stuff about it. Funny! It was so fun! Me and Cadence both took a small pumpkin and painted it. Cadence was the very last child to finish painting and still wanted to keep painting. She really enjoyed it. We got to watch a short video on fire safety and then go out to the bay and see the fire trucks. The fireman showed us the hoses and told us a little about the trucks and what they do while they are at the fire station. They even got a call while we were there. It was really neat. The kids were all really shy while we were there, but if the rest were anything like Cadence they didn't stop talking about it for a while after. Cadence has never been to the zoo, so we decided to take a day with her and just go with the flow at the zoo. We all had a blast! She was so excited to go see all of the animals...we packed her lunch for her and she carried her own big girl lunchbox, just like sissy. I think once we got there she was really amazed...it was beyond her expectations! Her favorite animal is the giraffe and she was shocked at how big they are in real life. We rode the train (I'll post some pics of that in the next blog), fed the ducks and turtles, played in the splash pad, saw kangaroos, it was awesome! Jada was excited but nervous. She moved to a new school because the primary school goes through 2nd. So now she is in the elementary school. They have lockers! We are currently TRYING to potty train Cadence. Trying is the key word here. She has NO interest at all. None. Zip.
